Sunovia Energy, together with EPIR Technologies, offers more than 25 years of combined experience in the development of advanced infrared light-detection devices and extensive expertise in II-VI materials, which are uniquely combined to form the semiconductor structures to be used in our solar PV technologies. EPIR previously developed advanced light-detection technologies for night vision and for missile defense and Air Force space systems, and the company continues to provide this technology to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Sunovia and EPIR’s new infrared materials and device products will further advance mercury cadmium telluride-based infrared technology and will provide much needed components to major defense contractors and commercial manufacturers for the production of infrared sensors and imagers at a reduced cost. Sunovia and EPIR have demonstrated several product concepts through cutting-edge research performed under Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contracts and other private and government contracts.
